Celebrating the Feast of the Creator
Today, September 6, you may notice some changes to the usual liturgical texts used, as we will be celebrating the Feast of the Creator, a resource provided by the Anglican Church of Canada. This worship service turns attention to God’s work in creation. Rooted for centuries in Orthodox tradition, the feast has become the focus of a wider ecumenical movement, embraced by Anglican, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and Reformed churches, seeking a shared liturgical expression of God as Creator.
Welcoming Edmonton Somang Church
We are very pleased to be welcoming Edmonton Somang Church and Pastor David Joo, who will be worshipping here starting this week. They will be meeting for worship services on Sunday afternoons, as well as Bible Study on Wednesday mornings and Prayer Meeting on Friday evenings. We hope you will give them a warm welcome!
The Giving Bench: Food Bank
Thank you all for your recent generous donations of school supplies for children in need. We have wrapped up that project and are now collecting non-perishable food items for the Food Bank, through Sunday, October 11 (Thanksgiving Sunday). Please consider adding one or two of these suggested items to your weekly shopping cart: powdered milk, baby formula, canned goods (soup, beans, chickpeas), pasta, sugar, flour, feminine hygiene products, and baby products. Please bring in any donated items and place them inside The Giving Bench in the foyer. Thank you!
Sunday Services: Return to Two Service Schedule
Our final Sunday of one service at 10:00 a.m. will be Sunday, September 6. We will return to a two service schedule of 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 13.
Men’s Online Bible Study
Men’s Bible Study will be starting up again Thursday, September 3. They meet online at 8:00 AM to about 9:15. The men are continuing the study of Revelation. For more information, please contact Doug S.
Women’s Online Bible Study
The weekly Women’s Online Bible Study will be starting up again on September 18. They meet on Fridays at 9:00 a.m.
Sunday School
We are excited about starting up fall programming for our children again! Sunday School registration will take place on September 6, and Sunday School classes will start on September 20. We hope to see you there!
